We know that when it comes to learning to write well, children can only write what they can say. It is incredibly important that children become skilled at speaking clearly and with grammatical accuracy so that they can communicate well.
Drama forms an important part of the English curriculum as children speak and act in role of characters in stories. This deepens their understanding of stories and enables them to refine ideas before writing. We place a great importance in children communicating effectively and drama lessons enable children to rehearse important language patterns as well as to use their bodies to put their meaning across.
Miss Kimsey is a specialist drama teacher and as well as being our Year 3 class teacher, also conducts Drama sessions in our after school clubs.
