There are many great learning opportunities to be taken advantage of outside the classroom which help children to consolidate their learning in the classroom and provide them with varied experiences.
We work closely with the charity Restore Hope in Latimer. In the large country estate, children work with a number of expert volunteers to try new activities such as river dipping, den building and fishing. We aim to teach children important learning behaviours such as joining in, persevering, making connections and asking questions and encourage them to apply these back at school. Your child will visit Restore Hope during one afternoon every other week.
After school clubs
We offer a variety of after school clubs, ranging fom street dance and karate to arts and crafts. You can find out more information by contacting the school office.
trips and workshops
Teachers organise educational trips throughout the year so that children can deepen their understanding of what they are learning in class. In addition to this, we invite individuals and organisations into school to run workshops with children. For example, representatives from the Royal British Legion came to talk to the children about Armistice Day and the older children learned about the importance of cultural diversity in a workshop run by Buckinghamshire local authority.
