Learning to play an instrument is a great way to develop learning behaviours and the feeling of accomplishment is like no other when a piece of music comes off in a performance.
It is for this reason that children at Chalfont Valley get specialist music teaching.
From Year 2 to Year 6, musicians from Amersham Music Centre visit us weekly so that children learn to play an instrument for an entire academic year. Year 2 and Year 6 learn to play the African drums, Year 3 learn to play the ukulele and Year 4/5 learn to play the violin.
Children also have a weekly singing lesson to ensure a well rounded music curriculum.
Keep an eye out for the dates of our performances!
